Willow Drive Preschool is a play-based, child-directed preschool program. We assess each child through observation, interactions, and one-on-one activities in their environment, doing what they love, PLAYING. From this point, we begin to tailor each child’s learning needs, by meeting them where they are. Our program is designed as a small community.
Child-directed and Play-based is not a free-for-all form of education, our children are able to expand on their interests, their imaginative play ideas, as the teacher is the researcher, the guide. This approach fosters a deep love for learning as they were able to choose the direction of their learning. Our students are prepared and excited for kindergarten when they move on.
Celebrate
Birthdays are big time. While we support healthy habits and food, we also celebrate achievements, anniversaries, and that includes the occasional cupcake experience. As a community, we come together to enjoy social events and friendship.
Joy
It’s not every day that we get to wear the biggest smile on the planet…is it? Not everything can make us smile, but the world is a much better place with a positive attitude. These are the times we key in and remember.
Respect
There’s nothing wrong with seeing things from different perspectives, unique angles, and we encourage kiddos to respect and appreciate different opinions. We can’t say who’s right side up in this moment.
